Intelligent design?
I think the argument should be “Are there intelligent participants?” How many times do you hear that this is evolution or random happening or some silly thing like that? I read today of a conversation with a man who is an athiest on Ben Stein’s new movie “Expelled – No Intelligence Allowed” that said:
Well, it could come about in the following way. It could be that at some earlier time, somewhere in the universe, a civilization evolved, probably by some kind of Darwinian means, probably to a very high level of technology, and designed a form of life that they seeded onto perhaps this planet. Now, um, now that is a possibility, and an intriguing possibility. And I suppose it’s possible that you might find evidence for that if you look at the details of biochemistry, molecular biology, you might find a signature of some sort of designer.
Now tell me please:
- Why are aliens easier to believe than God?
- Why must these aliens have evolved by “some kind of Darwinian means”?
- If you “might find evidence for that” then why is it necessary to believe it’s aliens and not God? It’s the same argument, just a different source.
One commenter on another blog said that this was the ultimate in arrogance because imagine the aliens scratching their heads, if they have them, saying “Who is Darwin?” I say, to quote a song, “It’s easier to believe that the Creator said in a moment, ‘Let it be.’ than to swallow some jive about crawling from the oceans or swinging down from the trees.” Amen brother! Finally, here’s a newly released photograph of their “random occurrences” that anyone without a hatred for God can see is much more than random. God has created beauty in places we are just now discovering a tiny portion of. This is being called the “Hand of God” and is cool!
