Is USA a Christian Nation?

I’ve heard it said that the United States is no longer a Christian nation.  I’ve seen movements to try to cement that belief.  I wonder if it’s true though… no, I don’t… I know the US is a Christian nation at its core and I pray it remains one.

If I’m born as, let’s say for instance, a Spaniard and later I move to France and live like the French and learn the language and can pass myself off as a French person, does that make me any less a Spaniard?  Just because our nation has chosen to act like the devil does not change who we are. Welcome to the public!

Up till now I never intended to share this blog with others.  It was a tool I use to pump myself up and to encourage myself to look at other points of view and to try to always find the positive angle of everything.

I realize that is selfish and if anyone else can gain anything from my humble writings then I should share it.  So, with this post I am making this blog “Open to the Public!”.  That sound you hear is the tab of a diet coke popping open in celebration.

Comments are now enabled but are filtered by Askimet (thanks for the suggestion Allison) and I ask only that you remain respectful of me and my other guests here in my home and I will do the same.  Disagree all you like but be respectful or I will delete the comment.  A blog on new perspectives and a positive outlook is no place for rudeness.

If anything I write is helpful then please let me know in the comments.  With encouragement it’s always easier to ‘make oneself’ write more.

Accessibility Important? Nah!

Here is an article that anyone ‘in the know’ would just read and say “Duh!” but a lot of us just don’t get it yet.

At work I program our online ticket store for tours and attractions so anything to do with the web is interesting to me.  I have been listening to a lot of podcasts since getting my first Mac computer system, which I fell absolutely in love with.

One of the podcasters I have been listening to is Allison Sheridan of the Nosillacast Podcast – hosted at Podfeet.com -  a Technology Geek Podcast with an Ever so slight Macintosh bias.

Allison often mentions people who use their computers a little differently than the majority, usually because of the inability to see.  I have to admit, between talking about, and with, her un-sighted friends and talking about Screensteps and Honda Bob, Allison has a way to burrow into your subconscious and make positive changes to those around her… well, positive only if you NEED Screensteps or own a Honda or Acura in the LA or Orange County area, otherwise you’ll buy something you don’t need or want to move to California… but the rest is positive!

Public Opinion

“Everyone” knows that American’s don’t want offshore drilling and that most of us are upset by Arizona’s “carding” of suspected illegals, right?  Just turn on the TV News and you’ll see stories about California protesters outside the refineries and the President shutting down offshore ventures.  Watch CNN and you’ll hear about protests by illegals and boycotts costing the people of the state of Arizona millions of dollars.

I can talk for hours on this but I’ll try to keep it short: Read the rest of this entry »

Mother’s day fun

Happy Mother’s Day!

What better for Mother’s day than to spend it with your mom, if you are blessed enough to still have her. I am thankful that my mother is still here and since she’s not physically able for us to go out and ‘do’ stuff together I wanted to encourage everyone to take advantage of it if they can.

There are lots of things to do but how many of them involve two people in the same place but yet in different worlds? A movie is nice but how much do you interact together? Isn’t a quiet meal or a walk together through a museum better? At least you can talk and share the things that interest you with each other.

Mother’s day is soon so think about Mom and spend some time together that counts! The company where I work has some ideas in various cities. Check their Travel Blog and if you need to buy some tickets go to their store where you can get discount tour tickets.
